Chrome has the most complete implementation of the Screen Capture API, and is the browser this recorder behaves best in.

## What Chrome supports

Whole screens, individual application windows, and browser tabs. Tab audio on every platform. System audio on Windows only — see recording on Windows. Pause and resume mid-recording. WebM output using VP9 or VP8 video with Opus audio — see WebM against MP4 for what that means when you share the file.

## The sharing bar

While sharing, Chrome pins a bar to the screen with a Stop sharing button. Pressing it ends the capture — this recorder treats that as a normal stop and keeps everything recorded up to that moment, rather than losing it.

## Switching sources mid-recording

Chrome’s sharing bar has a "Share this tab instead" button. The recording continues without a break; only the picture changes.
