Cookies
There are no cookies
Not a functional one, not an analytics one, not a third-party one. That is also why you have not been asked to accept anything.

Why there is no consent banner
European rules on cookies — the ePrivacy Directive, and the UK regulations that mirror it — require permission before storing information on your device or reading information already there, with a narrow exemption for storage that is strictly necessary to deliver something you asked for. This site stores nothing whatsoever, so the requirement never arises. A banner asking you to accept cookies that do not exist would be theatre.
What is not used
- No session or authentication cookies, because there are no accounts.
- No preference cookies. Your recorder settings live in the page while the tab is open and disappear when it closes, which is why they reset on reload.
- No analytics of any kind — no visit counting, no heatmaps, no session replay.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels, and no social media trackers.
- No local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
- No fonts, scripts or images loaded from another domain, so no third party sees a request from your browser at all.
What the browser holds anyway
Two things exist in your browser that are not cookies and are not readable by us. The first is the ordinary HTTP cache, which keeps copies of the page files so a return visit loads quickly; clearing your browsing data removes it. The second is your recording itself, which lives in the memory of the tab until you download or delete it, and never touches disk unless you save it.
Checking for yourself
Open your browser’s developer tools, go to the storage or application panel, and look at Cookies, Local Storage and Session Storage for this site. All three are empty. The privacy page describes how to run the same kind of check on network traffic.
If this ever changes
Should the site one day need storage — a saved preference, for instance — this page will describe exactly what is stored and why, and anything beyond the strictly necessary will ask your permission first rather than assuming it.
