Screen recording in Microsoft Edge
Edge is built on Chromium, so screen capture behaves almost identically to Chrome, including the parts other browsers lack.
What Edge supports
Everything Chromium offers: whole displays, individual windows, browser tabs, pausing part-way through, and the same WebM container Chrome writes.
Audio follows the Windows rule — a shared tab carries its sound anywhere, while whole-screen sound is available only on Windows.
Because the engine is shared, anything that works in Chrome works here, including switching the shared source part-way through without breaking the file.
Small differences from Chrome
The picker is styled differently and the audio checkbox sits in a slightly different place, but the capabilities are the same. Edge on macOS has the same system-audio limitation as every other browser there.
Edge adds an "Improve your web experience" setting that can slow the first load of a page; it has no effect on recording itself.
