How to record a single browser tab
Recording one tab produces the tidiest result: no desktop, no notifications from other apps, and audio that works.
How to do it
Press start, then pick the Chrome Tab option in the browser’s picker and choose the tab. Tick "Share tab audio" if the page makes sound.
Why it is usually the best choice
The recording follows the tab, so notifications, other windows and anything else on your desktop stay out of it. Tab audio works on every platform in Chrome and Edge, unlike system audio.
What it will not capture
Anything outside that tab: browser menus, extension popups, other tabs, downloads. If you need those, record a window or the whole screen instead.
Dialogs the operating system draws, such as file pickers and print dialogs, also sit outside the tab and will not appear.
