How to record one application window
Window capture records a single application and nothing else, even if other windows sit on top of it.
How to do it
Press start and choose the Window tab in the picker. Only currently open windows are listed — minimise nothing beforehand or it will not appear.
Things on top do not appear
If you drag another window over the one being recorded, the recording is unaffected. This is useful, and also disorienting the first time: you can read your notes on top of the window you are recording, and viewers will never see them.
Limitations
Closing the window ends the recording, which is one of several reasons a capture stops early. On Wayland, per-window capture may be unavailable depending on your desktop environment.
Resizing the window mid-recording changes the captured resolution, which some players handle poorly. Set the size you want before you start and leave it alone.
