Screen recording has no sound
A silent recording almost always comes down to one of four causes. Work through them in this order.
1. The audio checkbox was not ticked
Chrome and Edge only capture sound from the screen if you tick "Share tab audio" or "Share system audio" in the picker. It is off by default, and cannot be enabled after recording has started.
2. You are using Firefox or Safari
Neither can capture audio from the shared source at all. Use Chrome or Edge, or narrate through the microphone instead.
3. You are on a Mac and shared a whole screen
macOS does not give browsers access to system audio. Share a browser tab instead, which does carry audio, or use the microphone.
4. The microphone was muted or wrong
If you expected your voice, check the level meter shown during recording. It warns when it has heard nothing for several seconds. Test the microphone before the next attempt.
